Until the beginning of the 19th century, the townspeople drew water from 18 public wells located all over the town. Originally, water was drawn by well sweeps, then by cast-iron pumps. When water from the wells was no longer drinkable, they were covered with cobbles. The well on Garncarska Street was uncovered in 1990’s during a sewage system repair and it was renovated. Water from the well is still unfit for drinking. Next to the pump there is a mural painted by Aleksandra Kubuszok and the participants of the 10th Plein-Air Painting and Photography Workshop.
